I think we have all suffered from sleepless nights at some point in our lives.
Struggling to get to sleep, and then stressing about not being able, and being tired in the morning as we pour our coffee in attempt to wake ourselves up.
Studies have shown we should be getting 7-9 hours a night
Scientists and sleep studies suggest that we should be getting between 7-9 hours of sleep a night, but of course this varies between person to person and as our lives get more fast paced, stressful and longer working days, we all know that sleep is getting lower on the priority list as we try to get a balance.
What can we do?
We know the simple techniques to help us sleep, no technology before bed, taking time to relax and unwind before bed, avoiding caffeine, alcohol and sugar, getting regular exercise.
But most of us neglect taking time out for ourselves on a weekly basis to really relax and unwind.
Studies have shown massage helps reduce anxiety, stress and improve sleeping patterns, as well as having many other health benefits physically, mentally and emotionally.
How can The Potting Shed help?
At The Potting Shed, we also use essential oils, such as chamomile, that help promote sleep and calm the mind. After your treatment, we can also give you a blend to take home with you and use in between your treatments to continue to help you sleep.
Reflexology can also help you get a good night’s sleep. Working reflex points, such as the pineal glad, can help to regulate circadian rhythms and help you get your body into a better sleeping pattern.
